I finally up and did it, I deactivated my facebook account.
Apparently I stepped on a few toes not being completely obliterated that a basketball player perished. I was like okay it's sad but my life is moving on? Yeah so I brought up the fact he was also a rapist. People were like yo he just died he was a father, husband etc etc etc and I was like yeah and a rapist. I'm not even going into the rest. So I might lose friends for speaking about it; oh well *hunched shoulders emoji*

People that should know me, at any phase in my life. I have never EVER been a basketball fan. I'm also not a morbid mother fucker obsessed with death either. But celebrities are not immortal and they can pass on too. Bet you a lot of other people died yesterday too but they weren't Air Kobe's so they went on unnoticed.

Yeah so, I'm leaving my facebook off for a week, maybe longer. As it is deactivated howevs I still have messenger so I can still talk to people even though talking to people is the last thing I wish to do right now.

Friday the 24th was the Three Year Anniversary of my car accident that threw my life into beautiful chaos. I've had a couple days now to reflect upon how bad it was, how far I've come and where I'm heading... to the knife again to get a new hip yehaw!!

The one thing that pissed me off though, I went to check my author instagram... piece of crap that did all this to me had followed me, are you fucking serious? But I will admit, it lit a fire under my ass to get working more on my book and get it out, just remembering he does exist in this world and welp block was used no worries there but the audacity? is that the word I want?

Finally moving all my files off this computer before it really shits the bed. I got lucky after two restarts my semagic is running now- but yeah that is how I work it now things don't run I do a restart and that will get really annoying real fast, they are working on ordering my new one for me. But yes needs to save my preciouses. ( I go into Gollum mode sometimes and talk in we person and my)

How has everyone else been
Me with my I'm BACK
then this weekend hit and I'm GONE

Hesitating making this public but it's how I feel so why not?

Facebook is a really strange place, and I agree with what you said. I honestly feel like people get less worked up over mass shootings than celebrity deaths. A lot of people have been getting uptight over mentioning he was an accused rapist, which is hypocritical because the same people were also shouting in favor the me too movement. No one is consistent in anything. :\

I sometimes think about leaving FB ... but then it's a way to keep I touch with family and friends. Meh.

I had no idea about his rape. Ugh.

We have this tendency to raise those who have just died to "god status". Well -- we also need to be prepared for an astounding fall from that godlike place.

I also sometimes think that we are in such a divisive place, that we long for something - - anything - - to bind us together. This death kind of did that. We might not agree on politics, but -- oh yeah -- we can all rally together by loving on a dead athlete.

I've also learned one thing about Facebook - - do not disagree with any one else's post. If you do, keep it to yourself. My postings have become increasingly bland, non controversial things - like silly cat memes or nature photos or places I've been. Plus - I'm not posting as much anymore, either. It's like everyone is itching for a fight, but I'm not gonna play.

I must admit I knew nothing about Kobe Bryant (American sports pretty much unreported in the UK), but when I read about the sexual crimes he was accused of... yeah, all the sad posts started to leave a very bitter taste.

Audacity is a good word... and he has it alright. What a complete loser.

He WAS a rapist. That's just a fact. *hug*.

Yep; audacity definitely covers it! *hugs*.

I don't like how the news says "Kobe Bryant, his daughter and 7 other people" like the other people are not as important. I assume they're not famous but they still matter

And I was thinking "wasn't he a rapist?"

I no longer go on Facebook. It's lame. ;)

My life is so much better without Facebook in it, and it's been almost a month without it now, and I've never been happier

Good for you!

I only keep FB because that's where our granddaughter's pictures are posted. Otherwise, I skim it but don't really post a whole lot. I guess it's good for keeping in touch with a few people I love, though. But I sometimes wish it didn't exist.

While Kobe's death was tragic, I agree with you; it's tragic when anyone dies in an accident like that.

I also agree with your 'wtf' re: that person following you on Insta. Weird.

Told you how I feel about the Kobe thing, tragic it happened, he had an amazing career but sadly was a shit person. People were still talking about it at work today. I guess it comes with working in a Sporting Store. Shit man we were talking about it too when were getting ready to leave there was a shooting in a South Carolina School, plus that fire at a marina that killed people and destroyed housing but it's all Kobe.

I just still can't believe that fucker had the audacity to even add you on there. What a fucking prick. If I ever see him, he's getting run over.

I almost forgot you deactivated your Facebook, I was going to tag you because MVP was facing Rey Mysterio on RAW and I was like well shit, I'm too lazy to send this in messenger. To be fair though I was at work and on my phone so it would've taken more effort :D

I'm more concerned about the virus in China than the early death of a celebrity, and I'm not into basketball, but this is America and how we respond. But also in America is how rape is classified as a he said/she said thing. Committing adultery is not rape, nor is it a crime except in the military. Can you confirm he's a rapist? If so, then you need to plug that label onto every male in America.

Hugs. I personally find it rather odd that people get so upset about celebrity deaths. I've never heard of the man and felt sad a little girl died which seemed worse. I only grieve for people I knew.

Ah. I was scared for a moment that maybe I'd offended you somewhere and was blocked...

But yeah...totally grok where you're coming from. Pretty much, too many sports stars have some sort of allegation like that against them. :/

I wouldn't say that celebrity deaths are completely unrelatable, but I'm surprised sometimes by the sheer vastness of the "effect"; people that had never shown any interest in that celebrity or his/her field still posting about it. In this particular case, I think some people may have felt the tragedy because Kobe's daughter died, too, but so few posts/articles mentioned that there was another child who died, too.

Is it clear on there what you're writing about? I mean, that'd be a pretty clear hint that you don't really want to hear from him/let him see what you're up to.
