Tried to be as vague as possible could not rate, book 4

The Wrong Family by Tarryn Fisher




I am so all over the place with how I feel about this book. I'm not sure how to rate it as the writing style was wonderful.

At a certain part I felt myself smelling urine, gun residue (when I have never smelled a gunshot in my life), blood, and vomit. Just from reading the way it all went down. I'm not spoiling if I am not telling who and where or when right?

Attacking homelessness, mental health, family issues ALL IN THE SAME BOOK what a task this author took on!

It took a good 100 or so pages for me to realize one of the characters was a squatter and did not rent a room from the family she was spying on. I had thought she was staying with them and they were aware of her presence haha nope. WRONG.

I've often considered writing about twins but this connection between them was so off. Never saw any of it coming. Not at all. I don't think the character did either of her own twin?

The older sister yeah she's the villain too. I did not like her, even at the end. I was all oh no she did not?! What.

I was tasked to read this for a book club I cannot wait to see how everyone else views what we read here!
