King of Scars by Leigh Bardugo

Really bittersweet this book is done. Thankful I held off reading it for so long as I now have the Sequel in my hands. I just have to have the willpower to wait a little to not read it right away.

Leigh Bardugo is one of my favorite authors to go to to escape life. Her world building I wish to be able to do.

This book was no exception.

I've never been one to "ship" two characters getting together but if by the end of the second book Nikolai and Zoya have not even kissed I will be severely damaged.

However the ending of this book I had my mouth open wide I mean I basically saw it coming-ish. I had suspicions about that characters arrival the entire time. However I thought he was linked to the Apparat. Apparently not.

I have so much more I want to say but I am so sad this book is over. I took my time with it waiting for the other to come out and arrive.

Tiny bit of spoilerville but not really if you've never heard of the Grishaverse.

I didn't like her before what happened then I was like haha you know your stuff. Always trust your gut.
Juris was a hard ass but Zoya needed it. I felt for her when he broke her amplifier it only made sense he would get her a newer better one.
And Gregori like did he breed Rasputin somehow hahaha. I know mixing fantasy and real life. That whole alternate universe was so strange. I was having trouble picturing it as I ate and drank while reading it haha how can you be somewhere and not sleep, or eat and not be tired or hungry. Every day the same thing never knowing what time it was FOREVER. Ahck.

Really hoping so much is answered in the second book but yes I need a break.
Only because I love it so much I will probably plow through it then be in withdrawal.
